The strategy for this deck is to play relatively passive and spend any leftover mana on on the Hero Power. The playing style involves using low cost spells to neutrulise any aggressive rush decks. Spells such as Earth Shock (Silence a minion, then deal 1 damage to it.), Rockbiter Weapon (Give a friendly character +3 Attack this turn.) and even Lightning Bolt (Deal 3 damage. Overload) can be very useful as it can remove early game creatures.
Cards such as Lightning Storm (Deal 2-3 damage to all enemy minions. Overload (2)) and Lightning Bolt (Deal 3 damage. Overload (1)) are very economical spell to clear the board especially with Azure Drake (Spell Damage +1. Battlecry: Draw a card.) or Wrath of Air Totem (Spell Damage +1).
For the most effective removal of giant minions, the spell Hex (Transform a minion into a 0/1 frog with Taunt) is very useful just like Polymorph from the Mage deck. Some plays at desperate situations may Hex one of their minions in order to gain Taunt.
Useful minions such as Argent Commander (Charge, Divine Shield), and Fire Elemental (Battlecry: Deal 3 damage.) can deal plenty of damage and provide some defense. With Fire Elemental on the board, your opponent might be put off destroying it.
Some card combinations includes:
1.Timed properly and you will be able to deal about 10 damage on 1 turn.
- Rockbiter Weapon (Give a friendly character +3 Attack this turn.)
- Doomhammer (Windfury, Overload (2)).
2. To grow a giant minion you can play:
- Unbound Elemental (Whenever you play a card with Overload, gain +1/+1)
- And play as many cheap Overload Cards as possible.
3. For a quick and cheap to cast army you can play:
- Feral Spirit (Summon two 2/3 Spirit Wolves with Taunt. Overload (2)).
- With Flametongue Totem in between them to gain the +2 Attack.
